It is a Chlorinated Paraffinic Hydrocarbon, PARACLOR S-45 is non-toxic, stainless and resistant to mold growth.
It is highly resistant to chemicals and water. In the manufacture of PVC it functions as a secondary plasticizer and provides other important characteristics such as resistance to staining, migration and flexibility at low temperatures, as well as being compatible with various plasticizers. It is also used as a flame retardant in the manufacture of plastics, paints and adhesives, in combination with Antimony Trioxide improves its properties as a flame retardant and consequently reduces production costs.
